YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY COMES FIRST
If possible, remove your auto from the path of other cars. Turn on your emergency flashers or open you hood to warn other drivers. If you notice gas or oil leaking, or if you cannot remove your car from the path of traffic, get as far away from it as you safely clan. Set flares to warn others.

STOP PROFUSE BLEEDING AND AVOID MOVING THE INJURED IF POSSIBLE, AS IT MAY SERIOUSLY COMPLICATE INJURIES
If you or anyone else appears to be injured, call a doctor or ambulance or have somebody do it for you.

DON'T BE BRAVE
If you feel you may have suffered any injury whatsoever, allow an ambulance to be called and let them treat you there or take you to an emergency room. It is better to be safe than sorry, and early treatment of your injuries provides for faster recovery.

DON'T ADMIT IT IS YOUR FAULT
Although you may feel that you are to blame, further investigation may show a different cause!

CALL THE POLICE OR HIGHWAY PATROL
If you have no already done so, notify the California Highway Patrol if the accident occurred on a State Highway, or the local police if the accident occurred in a city. In California, the driver has a duty to make such a report.

NOTIFY YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
Regardless of how serious the accident, you should always call your insurance company. Even if you do not know who or what hit your car, call your insurance company immediately. Immediate notice to your insurance company will protect your rights including claims against an uninsured motorist. When written notice is required by your policy, give such notice promptly or as specified by your policy.

DO NOT OPERATE YOUR VEHICLE WITHOUT INSURANCE
California Law requires that insurance be acquired. Proper insurance coverage protects your individual assets and provides the injured party with funds for proper medical care, reimbursement for lost income and general damages.

PROTECT YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY
